Common Brochure Folding Styles
- Half-Fold Brochure (Bi-fold): Created by folding a single sheet into two halves, forming two panels.
- Tri-Fold Brochure (C-fold or Letter-fold): Achieved by folding a flat sheet into three sections along two parallel creases, resulting in three panels. The right panel typically folds underneath the left panel.
- Z-Fold Brochure (Zig-zag fold or Fan-fold): Formed by folding a flat sheet into three sections along two parallel creases. The panels are then folded on top of each other in a zig-zag fashion.
- Gate Fold Brochure: Involves three panels, with two side panels that are half the width of the center panel. These side panels fold inwards, resembling the opening of gates to reveal the content printed on the center panel.
- French Fold Brochure (Right-angle Fold): Created by folding a flat sheet in half vertically and then in half horizontally, resulting in four equally sized panels.
- Accordion Fold Brochure: An extended version of the Z-fold, where the flat sheet is folded multiple times in the shape of the letter Z, expanding like an accordion once finished.
- Double Parallel Fold Brochure (Parallel Center-fold): Formed by folding a flat sheet in half and then in half again, with the two folds being parallel and in the same direction, resulting in four panels.
- Parallel Map Fold Brochure: Similar to the double parallel fold, this fold is achieved by folding a flat sheet in half, creating two panels. Each panel is then folded in half in the opposite direction, offering four panels in total.
